India e-Invoice Compliance: Removal of Platform Stamp / Signature

On July 30, Tradeshift will remove the platform stamp/signature previously added to documents received by Indian buyer accounts.

This applies to both domestic and international invoices, regardless of whether an Invoice Reference Number (IRN) was generated.

Going forward, invoices will be displayed exactly as received, without this extra platform marking.

    Why we’re making this update

This stamp was simply a visual element added by our system, it was never part of the legal authentication process for these documents.

    Impact on compliance

No action is required on your part. This change has zero impact on the legal or compliance status of your invoices:

    • Invoices under India's e-invoicing mandate: The legal proof of validity remains the IRN and QR code generated by the official Invoice Registration Portal (IRP). A platform stamp is not required.

    • Invoices outside the e-invoicing mandate: Under CGST Rule 46, signature obligations (where applicable) fall on the supplier, not the receiving platform.

    • International invoices: Indian e-invoicing signature and IRN requirements do not apply to cross-border documents.
